Early Learning Center

St. Martin Center Early Learning Center (SMELC), located in Lovell Place at East 13th and French Streets, provides care for children between the ages of six weeks and 5 years. The state-of-the-art facility also offers preschool curriculum, as well as before and after school care for children in Kindergarten through grade 5.

SMELC offers field trips, meals and snacks, an enclosed outdoor playground and so much more. The staff are compassionate, experienced and truly care about and take time with each child.

Keystone STARS is an initiative of the Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL) and utilizes best practices to promote early learning environments. The standards address staff qualifications and professional development, the early learning program, partnerships with family and community, and leadership and management.

St. Martin Center Early Learning Center is fully licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare. This ensures that staff ratios are maintained, that children are properly immunized and that the physical facilities meet all state guidelines. Childcare tuition assistance is available.
