St. Martin Early Learning Center

"This was the best decision we ever made." - Mom of 2 SMELC students

SMELC provides education for children ages six weeks to 13 years, including kindergarten readiness and before and after school care.

Our Continuity of Care model of teaching sets us apart from other Erie County centers.   A child stays with the same group of children and teachers from the time they enter SMELC until they reach Pre-School age. The child then moves to a new class at a time that mimics the transition to school. This helps teachers and families to develop a close bond that allows for better child development and family care.  As teachers get to know families and their needs, they assist with referrals to our other programs or other area agencies.

We are a Keystone STARS center.  STARS is a Pennsylvania system that rates the quality of early learning centers.  We have achieved the highest rating at STARS 4. St. Martin Center Early Learning Center is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services. Childcare tuition assistance is available.

SMELC's hours of operation are 6:30am-5:30pm.  To enroll a child, or for more information, dial 814-454-1675 ×120.
