Bishop’s Breakfast Program

In December 2007, the Bishop's Breakfast Program began in the basement of St. Paul's United Church of Christ (Peach Street between 10th and 11th Streets). It is open to men, women, and children who are homeless or simply struggling. A hot breakfast is prepared at St. Martin Center, and then volunteers take it to St. Paul's and serve it at 7am. For some, it is the only meal they receive all day.

Our caseworkers talk to the program participants to learn about their most pressing needs, make referrals for our programs, and make referrals to other agencies. When items are available, our caseworkers provide toiletries, clothing assistance, laundry vouchers, and other items.

How You Can Help:

- Donate breakfast items (oatmeal, eggs, granola bars, yogurt, bread, sugar, milk, etc)
- Host a drive for food, toiletries, or socks (travel-sized toiletries; new socks; winter gloves/scarves/hats)
- Monetary donations (if writing a check, please note "Bishop's Breakfast" in the memo)
