COVID-19

Q: Are you open?  Are there any precautions?
A: Yes!  Masks are currently optional.

St. Martin Early Learning Center is open and following all mandated policies and procedures to keep everyone safe.

Self-Sufficiency Department

Q: What do I need to bring to my first appointment for intake, or to update my information?
A: Your photo ID, social security cards for all family members, proof of income for all family members.

Q: How do I get help with my rent, security deposit, or mortgage?
A: Call Erie County Care Management at 814-SHELTER to start. They coordinate all housing assistance requests and will make the official referral.

Q: What do I need to bring for rental assistance?
A: You must have a copy of your current lease.

Q: I'm struggling with my utility bills.  What can I do?
A: If you've never enrolled before, the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission has information.  You can also contact the Department of Health & Human Services regarding Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Penelec regarding their Pennsylvania Customer Assistance Program (PCAP), or National Fuel regarding their Low Income Rate Assistance (LIRA) program.

Q: Can you help me to get a bed, a roof repair, or any appliances?
A: No, unfortunately we cannot offer assistance with any of these items.  Please try United Way's PA 2-1-1 program.

Q: How do I enroll my child?
A: Contact Kelly Nies at (814) 454-1675 x 120 for more information, to schedule a tour, check availability, or to pick up an enrollment packet.

Q: What is needed before my child can start?
A: Each child will need a current physical, updated shot records, a completed enrollment packet, $10 enrollment fee, and if receiving subsidized funding, an enrollment summary from the Early Learning Resource Center.

Q: What are your hours of operation?
A:  The Early Learning Center is open Monday-Friday from 6:30 am – 5:30 pm. 

Q: Do you accept subsidized child care funding formerly known as CCIS?
A: Yes, for more information on the Child Care Works subsidized child care program please contact the Early Learning Resource Center at (814) 836-5898.

Q:  At what age can I enroll my child?
A:  We offer quality care to children 6 weeks -13 years of age.

Q:  Do you offer transportation services?
A:  We offer transportation services to students beginning in Kindergarten.  Our  vans will take students to and from the center and their designated school for before and after school care as long as the child attends a school that is within the Erie city limits and provided that we have space on the appropriate van.  Unfortunately, we are not able to offer transportation to and from a child’s home or to those students before they enter into Kindergarten.
