Location: St. Martin Early Learning Center, Erie, PA
Hours: 25 hours per week
Salary: $14 - $20/hr depending on education
Job Description:
St. Martin Early Learning Center is seeking a dedicated and passionate part-time teacher to join our quality STAR 4 rated facility that provides a safe and stimulating space for young learners to grow and thrive.
As a teacher at our center, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing and educational environment for young children, fostering their development and growth through engaging activities and structured learning.
Responsibilities:
- Assists in implementation of daily activities under the guidance of Group Supervisor
- Helps to prepare materials for the daily group activities
- Helps to maintain an orderly physical environment conducive to the optimal growth and development of the students
- Plans and participates in educational field trips
- Closely supervises students throughout the day, ensuring that students are never left unsupervised
- Maintains an open line of communication with parents
- Meets with parents as needed (minimum of twice per year) to discuss child’s progress
- Meets with Administration as needed to discuss progress of students
- Attends monthly staff mtgs, weekly planning session, and in-service training
- Maintains and continues to develop professional competencies
- Completes all observations, evaluations, and portfolios of students as required by DPW/STARS
- Participates in two professional development groups/committees on an ongoing basis
- Represents St. Martin Center, Inc. Early Learning Center at various community activities and meetings
- Performs all other duties as assigned/required
Requirements:
- Must have a minimum of CDA, human services degree preferred
- Must be able to work afternoons
- Ability to obtain all necessary clearances, pass a physical and tb test, and lift in excess of 25 lbs.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Passion for early childhood education and child development.
